SATOP-Substance Abuse Traffic Offender Program

What is SATOP?

The Substance Abuse Traffic Offender Program is a statewide mandated system of comprehensive, accessible, community-based education and treatment options for individuals arrested in Missouri for alcohol and drug-related driving offenses.

SATOP is a 2-Step program requiring a screening interview followed by attendance in one of three programs.

Step 1-The Screening

A screening is an hour appointment where you come in and fill out paperwork, take a true/false, multiple choice test, and then have an interview with a substance abuse counselor. We provide these screenings in 5 mid-Missouri Locations with both daytime and evening hours.

Cost of Screening:

$120 State set Agency Fee

$125 Mental Health Earnings Fee

$245 Total

Step 2-The Programs

During the interview portion of your screening the counselor will refer you to one of the following programs. You must complete this program in order to complete SATOP.

Level 1-Offender Education Program

This is a 10-hour education program offered in either two consecutive weeknights in Columbia or a Friday night and Saturday at our Mexico or Jefferson City locations.

Level 2-Weekend Intervention Program

This is a 48-hour program (Friday afternoon-Sunday afternoon) in our Columbia or Jefferson City locations. Large and small group discussions plus personal interviews with substance abuse counselors.

Cost: $150-$400 (These fees are based on income)

 

Level 3-Clinical Intervention Program

This program provides a total of 50 hours of Individual & Group Counseling and Education. You would be referred to another agency for this program.

Cost: $150 minimum (These fees are based on income)
